5 RTT Therapy Criticisms: What You Need to Know about Rapid Transformational Therapy

What is RTT Therapy?

Thousands of people are experiencing the transformational benefits of RTT hypnotherapy first-hand as it continues to grow in popularity. RTT, or Rapid Transformational Therapy, can be effectively used to help people struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, low self-esteem and even relationship issues. While there is some criticism surrounding RTT, much of it is due to a lack of awareness and education about what is RTT and hypnotherapy in general.

Many critics believe RTT therapy is nonsense. For some people, the very idea of hypnosis brings stereotypical images of people on stage quacking like a duck or doing some other crazy thing against their will.

In reality, these stereotypes and misconceptions about hypnotherapy couldn’t be further from the truth. The benefits of hypnotherapy have been used to help treat people with issues from trauma and depression to anxiety and low self-confidence for hundreds of years. Much of the criticism surrounding RTT is due to myths, misconceptions, and concerns about the effectiveness and credibility of rapid transformational therapy.

I’ve been using hypnotherapy in my coaching practice for nearly 20 years and rapid transformational therapy specifically for over 6 years.

RTT Hypnotherapy Criticism #1: RTT is a quick fix or shortcut without rapid and permanent results

This misconception might be due to the belief as a society that traditional talk therapy is the only way to effectively overcome issues like anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship issues, and that it must be a long, ongoing process. While traditional talk therapy is a solution for many people, it is not the answer for everyone, every time.

In fact, 75% of Coach Monique’s clients have tried traditional therapy before coming to her, but did not get the results they needed. For many, coaching felt like their “last resort” because nothing else they tried worked. With traditional talk therapy, one must tell their story session after session, in hopes that the source of the issue might eventually be found. Some might never discover why they are feeling and behaving in the negative ways that they are and certainly haven’t gotten any meaningful tools to help them heal and move forward in their lives.

Because of its ability to access the subconscious and unconscious mind, RTT therapy provides direct access to the information required to understand what is driving a behavior and/or creating the suffering. A highly skilled RTT therapist will help you get to the root cause of the behavior or suffering, through hypnosis and making corrections at the source. The need for problem behaviors slip away and you’re able to heal and experience permanent change.

Hypnotherapy may sound intimidating to some, but hypnosis is simply a deep relaxation, and you will be aware and in complete control throughout the session. You will simply work with a RTT Therapist, such as Coach Monique, to understand, feel, and heal the blocks which prevent you from living the life you desire. This is not a quick fix- the insight may be instant, but the changes it enables are permanent. What can sometimes take years of traditional talk therapy to accomplish can often be accomplished in months or in some cases, weeks.

RTT Hypnotherapy Criticism #2: Inexperienced people can become RTT practitioners

Because nearly anyone, regardless of background or professional experience, can become a RTT practitioner through online courses, RTT has faced a lot of criticism from psychologists, therapists, etc. While it is true that there are now thousands of RTT practitioners, some with little or no experience in the fields of personal and professional development, you can find the right RTT Therapist for you by knowing what to look for in your research.

There is a big difference between a RTT practitioner and a RTT Therapist. The certification for RTT Therapists is a much more rigorous process that requires more education and training hours. The standards for testing and certification are higher as well. A practitioner can begin working as soon as the course is completed while a RTT Therapist must continue hands-on training.

When considering RTT hypnotherapy, or really any kind of emotional support, experience is key. Coach Monique has nearly 20 years of experience using hypnotherapy and over 6 years using RTT as a powerful tool for her clients.

Coach Monique was one of only three RTT Therapists in the United States when she studied and became certified, with Marisa Peer, at the Imperial College in London in 2016. She is still one of the only RTT Therapists with a full-time professional coaching practice, trademarked tools, advanced training, and nearly 20 years of hypnotherapy experience. Many RTT practitioners and even some RTT therapists do the work only as a “side hustle” rather than a full-time career.

Coach Monique’s innovative and personalized approach to coaching, in which she uses RTT therapy as an effective tool in combination with Brain Science and Emotional Intelligence based coaching, provides her clients with the tools, techniques, and solutions they need to heal at the source, thus making the work more effective and producing long-term, sustainable results.

RTT Hypnotherapy Criticism #3: There isn’t enough time to forge a client-therapist relationship

When RTT therapy is used by itself, there isn’t much of a relationship between the practitioner and the client so they have a limited understanding of their client’s history and coping mechanisms. It is important to form a trusting relationship with your RTT Therapist before diving into the experience, so you are comfortable and relaxed enough to enter hypnosis. For some, participating in RTT therapy can take courage to face their subconscious thoughts and beliefs head on, and having a “safe space” to work with your RTT Therapist helps you do so.

When working with a client, Coach Monique typically doesn’t do RTT until the third or fourth session. By then, she and the client have built a relationship based on trust and compassion, which allows her to personalize her approach and optimize their RTT results. The client has also already gained tools and insights from the previous sessions which makes hypnotherapy benefits even more effective for them.

With the right practitioner, RTT can produce rapid results that have a waterfall effect on every area of your life.

RTT Hypnotherapy Criticism #4: It’s just a trend

Many critics are skeptical of RTT because they think it’s just a trend or fad. While it looks like RTT hypnotherapy has become popular overnight, traditional hypnotherapy has been around for hundreds of years. Some evidence even suggests that hypnosis dates back to the beginning of recorded history. If hypnotherapy didn’t produce results, it wouldn’t have endured for such a long time.

In fact, the reason Coach Monique is a RTT Therapist is because she experienced her own life-changing results from RTT. After struggling with both shopping issues and a Coca-Cola addiction for many years, she decided to try RTT and after seeing its transformative benefits, she became confident that RTT could help change her clients’ lives as well.

RTT Hynotherapy Criticism #5: Not everyone can be hypnotized

While we are all unique and there are no guarantees, the vast majority of people can be hypnotized. No two experiences are the same, but results can be achieved regardless. In her nearly 2 decades of utilizing hypnotherapy with clients, Coach Monique has never had a client who wasn’t able to be hypnotized and who didn’t experience at least some positive rapid therapy results.

RTT hypnotherapy is not recommended for anyone who has been diagnosed with seizures, epilepsy, or serious mental health issues such as Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder, hallucinations, or delusions.

Of course, the best way to determine whether or not RTT hypnotherapy is the right treatment for you is to consult with a therapist. If you think RTT is a potential solution for you, it’s important to do thorough research to determine who is the best RTT Therapist for you.

While there are many good therapists, finding someone who not only has extensive experience with hypnotherapy but also training in related fields can make all the difference in your outcomes.
